Open Access Literature

Click the Zotero button. Jamie Snook, PhD, maintains the database. Our goal is to make these valuable co-management resources accessible to Indigenous Peoples, who have traditionally had less access to research hidden behind paywalls.

By working together and sharing knowledge, we can unlock the promise of co-management and advance the important work of reconciliation. Ocean is here to assist you in your learning journey.

MEET OCEAN!

The AI world is opening up many possibilities for learning and collaboration. In that spirit, we have created Ocean - a friendly AI assistant who is a lifelong learner, constantly consuming open-access resources about co-management. Ocean is also starting to consume knowledge about co-management-related topics like Indigenous knowledge, knowledge co-production, court cases, and much more.

Powered by Claude 3.5 Sonnet, Ocean is ready to engage with you and support your co-management queries. If you want to integrate Ocean directly into your co-management website, please contact Jamie Snook, PhD.

The Knowledge Hub is a key component of the Co-Management Commons (CMC), created to support research and practice in fish and wildlife co-management, particularly in Canada. It offers open access to a curated selection of resources, including academic publications, reports, news articles, and educational materials.

The CMC, including the Knowledge Hub, was initiated by Dr. Jamie Snook, a leader in co-management who actively researches and teaches in this field. His work has shaped the Hub into a platform that bridges academic knowledge and practical application, fostering collaboration and enhancing understanding of co-management strategies.

The knowledge hub has three core components.

I - Open access database: Open access articles have been curated and placed in a Zotero database.
II - Ocean AI:  Ocean is a friendly chatbot that you can engage about the content in the open-access database.
III - Podcast: Dedicated conversations with some of Canada's leading co-management practitioners and academics.
