Frequently asked questions
What is the cost of the program?
The program cost is based on an annual fee of $1200 plus the 15% HST charged in the province of Nova Scotia, Canada. You may sign up for a minimum of one year and stay part of the community of practice indefinitely.
What are decolonizing dialogues?
During our live guest speaker sessions there are sometimes emotions and complex topics that are not easily discussed immediately at the end of a guest session. We organize separate sessions with Dr. Sylvia Moore that are unrecorded and provide a safe space for program participates to share more of their detailed insights and feelings about this difficult work.
What time commitment is required?
The content is delivered in a variety of formats for busy professionals including self-paced modules, curated readings, podcasts, online discussions, and live sessions. Individuals all allocate different amounts of time to their professional development. Live sessions are usually scheduled for 2 hours during regular work hours.
When are live sessions scheduled?
Live sessions are generally scheduled for the middle of the week in the fall, winter, and spring at 2pm Atlantic Time to accommodate the national participation in the Community of Practice.
Is the program accredited from a post secondary institution?
Our community of practice is independently facilitated and focuses on adult learners already working in various sectors, including public service, academia, NGOs, Indigenous organizations, and others. The program emphasizes professional development, commitment to co-management practices, coaching, and peer-to-peer support. Our facilitators are all affiliated with major Canadian academic institutions or actively involved in co-management practice.
